Stability of Slopes

Module of LARIX

The module performs global stability analyses for slopes, embankments, excavations, retaining walls and nail walls using the method of slices.

Model Options

  • Arbitrary polygon bounded soil layers
  • Arbitrary and independent polygon for terrain surface
  • Polygonal water table surface
  • Influence of seepage flow via contour lines of pore pressure
  • Special components with shear resistance, introduced as lines wir linearly variable shear resistance
  • Anchors with length limits for the design of the free anchor length
  • Soil reinforcement for modelling soil nails and geotextiles
Kreisförmige Gleitlinie

Polygonale Gleitlinie

Loadings

  • Concentrated loads
  • Distributed loads, constant or trapeziodal
  • Earthquake loads, horizontal and vertical

Calculation Methods

  • The program uses the widely accepted methods of Janbu and Krey
  • Different types of slip lines (circles with or without end tangents, arbitrary polygons) can be considered
  • Evaluation of the decisive slip line out of a set of slip lines
  • Variable number of slices
  • Evaluation of the free anchor length
Standsicherheit einer Stützmauer

Results

  • Display of the decisive slip line and the required free anchor length
  • Contour line representation of the safety factors for a set of slip lines
  • Safety factors for all calculated slip lines
